Vintage Love

I spent the day yesterday working on a lovely little dresser that I purchased last week.  It was in poor shape but had the charm and detail that I knew would pop with a coat of paint - not to mention the sweet ring pulls and keyhole drawers!

A mixture of white and grey created a soft, pale hue that has a slight tinge of blue to it.  Distressed to show off its true age and lines, then waxed for a soft and smooth finish -

vintage love!

This was done with one light coat of paint, sandpaper and one coat of wax by Annie Sloan.  I believe it would look fantastic as a little chest in a foyer to put the kids hats and gloves in.  Or, in the living room in a corner with a lamp on top.  For now, it is in my living room :)

Today, at The Old Lucketts Store, I purchased a new chalk based paint from a line named Maison Blanche.  The interesting fact is their dark wax can be applied directly without a clear wax applied prior.  I will take some pics to share and let you know how it goes!  Until then -

Keep warm!
